Bio

With a new musical project that calls on the sacred and invokes the divine feminine, Mel Dobra offers a sound that is ethereal and timeless. Drawing on the ancient roots of prayer and mantra, she blends celtic, hebrew and folk songs with harmonious instrumentation and angelic voices. This musical journey is a unique opportunity to dive into the sacred.

Her guitarist Joshua Arent, with a background in Flamenco and traditional Gypsy music, has collaborated with her to produce compositions woven with intricate melodies that are both haunting and uplifting.

Mel has spent the past 3 years touring nationally and internationally supporting the sacred music of Kevin James Carroll. Together they have performed at festivals including the Bali/Byron Spirit Festival, Asia Yoga conference, Yoga aid, Mind Body Spirit festival and Woodford festival, leading large groups of people to reconnect to their hearts through the power of song.

Mel launched her solo career in late 2012 after a 3 month mentorship with Katherine Jones which culminated in the 'Sisters in Song' concert. From the success of this concert Mel was invited to play at Eclipse festival, Uplift festival, Rainbow Serpant Festival, Byron Spirit festival and Earth Frequency festival. A packed summer of touring her own shows, whilst supporting the music of Kevin James Carroll, Dave Stringer and Sun Hyland.

Mel's new project aligns with her intention to create a space where the community can find a deep connection with themselves, with each other and with the planet through the shared power of sacred music.
